The carnival is a celebration that takes place before Easter, it combines elements such as costumes, charros, groups that sing, parades and street parties.

Our experience in the carnival was very pleasant since we were part of a new culture and tradition. To begin with, we were invited to the comparsa "Atlapulco", from the town of San Agustín Atlapulco, Chimalhuacán. This town is the only one that has the clothes for the charras of dresses of fifteen years, in this celebration dance of Virginia was made as the opening of the event, the charros danced with the charras, the music was an orchestra. The community went out to dance and accompanied the comparsa in their journey through the streets, to be flattered and admired for their clothing, and their dances that could be Virginias or Cuadrillas.

In this comparsa they moved from place to place, because they were different houses in which they invited them to dance, each house offered drink, oranges and soft drinks for the charros, charras, and people who accompanied the comparsa. At lunchtime, the people of the house fed about 200 people, since not only are the charros and charras fed, but also all the people who accompany the comparsa and family are invited.

Margarita Chombo from 1st "3" dressed up and danced in this traditional celebration.

The troupe finished dancing around 8 pm and they have a small meeting with the leader of the comparsa to sum up the day after their dance.

  3. It seems very interesting and appropriate to preserve traditions that enrich our person, and in any other field. As it is for our career as teachers in training and future teachers. This way we will help the children to know part of our culture, which in this case is the dance (carnival).

  4. It is interesting how the teachers in formation lived the experience of being in a Carnival, and that they encourage the traditions of Chimalhuacan, because people come together to live, dance and eat as a municipality that represents them with this tradition that is said to take years.

  5. The carnival is a very important festivity for all those inhabitants of the municipality or close to it since it is possible to perceive that it is how they are represented, I consider that knowing more about the traditions and customs of our nearby muncipies is of great importance since As teachers in formation we must know that and more and so we can teach something new to children.

This celebration is really amazing, people have the opportunity to show their wonderful costumes and dances. Personally, it is unknown the celebration that was celebrated before Easter in the municipalities near the Kings.
Thanks to the girls, now I know part of the customs of the place where I live, besides that it has impelled me to investigate more about it.

  8. You have to value the work and the participation of the classmates of the first three, and do not overlook that they look very good and very beautiful. Its article is interesting and I would like to comment that these parties come from the great Greece, similar to the Balkan festivals and the Dionists, a very dirty festivities with respect to morality, the purpose of which was that during Holy Week you could do anything to prevent sin from being committed in the week. The carnival arrives at the American continent with the arrival of colonialism and Christianity, changing its original idea of what these parties were, has been adopted and closer to the Mexican tradition and culture, personally I do not like this type of parties.

  9. It's a very nice and fun celebration. I was very surprised by the clothes of the charras, not knowing that in this community dance in a dress of fifteen years with which parade through all the streets. It is very nice to see people continue to enrich their culture with the preservation of their customs and traditions like this.
It really is a very interesting and enriching article about the Carnival of St. Augustine

  10. I think it's a good thing that traditions are not lost and that as future teachers it is of the utmost importance that we are involved in them because it is something of our history in Mexico and we must pass it on to future generations.
