BRITISH COUNCIL APTIS CERTIFICATE

By Moisés Chargoy

My experience with the APTIS test.

First, I want to thank the Escuela Normal de Los Reyes Acaquilpan, because they gave me the opportunity to apply to this test.

I didn't know about the existence of this kind of exams until one of the English teachers called me to tell that I was chosen to do this test. First, the teacher requested me some information about me, he said that applying to the APTIS certificate is a privilege, and I have to respond to it, how I would do it? Easy, studying and working the school's English Platform.

The place to do the exam was the Escuela Normal de Atizapan de Zaragoza (ENAZ) so far away from my school, almost 3 hours of distance, so very early in the morning, I met the teacher at the school and we started our way to the ENAZ.

The first day (the exam has a duration of 2 days) was the most boring because it was a simulation of the real exam and a lot of explanations about the questions in the exam, I mean, that class is very important, but very boring as well.  That class lasted 6 hours, from 9 am to 3 pm. It is important to say that the whole class was in English, everyone talked English the whole day, not because the Spanish was prohibited, they spoke English just for pride. It sounds funny, but it is true.

The week passed very fast, and the day of the exam came, June 28, that was the chosen day. I was nervous and my mate Nancy ♡ too, but I always seemed secure of myself, because the fear is a contagious poison.

The British Council people started to call everyone, they gave me a computer with headphones and a microphone, and my sessions codes too. The exam was online, in a platform, they gave me some codes to insert in the page, one code per ability, one for speaking, one for grammar, one for reading, one for listening and one for writing. That was a nice detail, practically I could do the exam in the order that I wanted to. I took this order: grammar, writing, reading, listening and speaking in the end.

Almost all the exam was easy, except for the speaking part, because there I had to describe a picture and answer some questions about it, then I had to think very quickly. In the other parts, I just had to order phrases, paragraphs, write answers in a determined situation, listen to conversations and answer a question about it. I finished the test in 2 hours, approximately. After the exam we went to El Porton to take breakfast, that was my favorite part.

Finally, on July 15th, the exam results came to our teacher, I was afraid about it, but when I saw my results that fear became into happiness, I reached the B2 level, same as my mate, Nan♡cy.

I recommend to all the schoolmates be clever, brave and intelligent, English is more than a course, it is an opportunity and it´s worth all the time spent on it.

“ THE LIVING MUSEUM”

By Nancy Reyes

With the fine attention, let me introduce myself, I am Nancy Araceli Reyes López, current student of the Normal School of the Reyes Acaquilpan, member of the 1st "II" of the degree in primary education, I share this time an opinion article about an activity developed in the institution that I mentioned is where I study, which was carried out concluding the second semester and that was an activity that takes by name and was about a "living museum" where all the students of 1st, which are three groups (1 ° "I", 1 ° "II" and 1 ° "III") chose an important or prominent character of the history of the world in terms of different categories, such as, for example, the history, art, politics and science.

In the development of this event, each section was formed on the outside of the library to wait for the presentation by the classmates of 1st "I" (Fatima and Gustavo) who participated as drivers of the event, to start to the activity and that each set in rows would enter waving to the crowd that would act as a spectator until arriving at the place where they would present their work causing an interest in the public for the creativity of the students in terms of the physical representation of the characters, in addition to the I want to listen to how they use the language of English respectively to the structure of dialogue and pronunciation as well as the performance skills of each student.

Giving continuity to the event, the spectators (directors, teachers of the institution, classmates of other grades and parents) approached the character they wanted to hear and played their shoulder gently and the character began to speak, in this way the spectator gave a star with a quantitative value which was a symbol that denoted a qualification as an encouragement to work and dedication to each of the students who represented their assigned character.

That is why it was understood that the activity was to encourage cognitive exercise in students as well as generate a remembrance of analysis, reflection and identity through graphic representation, all with the purpose that in the didactic process that this implies generate a critical and comprehensive thinking in their academic training as to cultivate in the student this type of activities will give a wide range of strategies when it is in the educational level that corresponds and in turn can transmit this identity to their students since English is an important competence in the profile of graduates in primary education because it opens many doors in the professional field.

THE STUDENT'S DAY CELEBRATION.

By: Karen Esmeralda Casillas Pavón, 1st 1.

Around 7:00 a.m. teachers and students of the Escuela Normal de los Reyes Acaquilpan, celebrated the day of the student. We went to the resting house “Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz”, and when we arrived to the place, students and teachers started the activities of presentation. We started with games in teams or groups, later we started to play sports in other groups.

Later the students went to the pool where the students played volleyball, swam, and sunbathed under the sun. They also took pictures, played in the water and enjoyed the day.

At lunch time, the students and teachers joined in the auditorium where we enjoyed the delicious food in company of the teachers and school friends. Later in this place, the students started the talent show where they sang and showed their talents.  The teachers gave a present to all the participants.

After that, some students went back to the pool once more. Other students slept in the garden, walked and listened to music, and took a break. The professors stayed with the students and asked them if they had enjoyed the day.

Finally, all the school community gathered together, went back to the buses and took the way home.

THE LIVING MUSEUM

SOCIETY

What Is A Living Museum?

A living museum is one where the past is recreated and often involves the use of costumed interpreters or historians.

A living museum or a living history museum is a museum that recreates historical settings to replicate past time periods. The objective of living history museums is to provide visitors with a practical interpretation of the past. They bring history to life by imitating the conditions of a natural environment, historical period, or culture to the fullest. Living museums use various interpretive techniques such as exhibitions and costumed historians who represent historical characters to make simulations of past periods as authentic as possible. The key difference between a living museum and other historical sites is that living history museums give interpretations in the first-person present.

SURPRISE EVENT TO PAMPER THE TEACHERS

By Malinaly Calderón 1st Grade, Group 3.

Around 12:00 p.m. the teachers of the Normal School of “Los Reyes Acaquilpan” were surprised by the teacher's day event, organized by the third grade students, with the collaboration and support of the groups of the institution.

All the groups met around the esplanade and the professors were placed in the center. The administrative staff and the quartermaster, also attended the celebration. The menu consisted of tacos and soft drinks.

The students of Third Grade were in charge of the organization which included games for the teachers, competitions, and a musical show accompanied by Mariachis.

How could we forget about the teacher Michel playing the lottery along with teacher German, teacher Bruno and teacher Braulio.

The professors received a surprise at around 1:20 p.m. when the Mariachis arrived to the celebration. So, they started happily singing and we can say that the ENRA has very good singers. When the Mariachis ended, everyone got up to dance to continue with the festivity. Later on, the teachers were given a small present and recognition prepared by all the students of the institution.

I interviewed some tutors who gave me their
comments about the event:

I found the event very enjoyable, I liked the
organization and the way they led themselves. The games were also adequate to encourage teachers. In general it was a pleasant celebration because it did not go unnoticed on the teacher's day. I liked the mariachi and the food too; I would only like to thank the students.

Braulio Santamaria Montero

The event was very well organized, the responsible students knew how to direct well and adapt it for the teachers. It is a great challenge to take that initiative and the responsibility. I want to thank the entire school community for the organization.
